Who I am

My art journey started with me being homeless in North Hollywood in 2006. Previously I bounced from group homes to tranzitional housing programs from the age of 13 until I turned 20, where I eneded up in a program so disgusting I had to shower in a homless shelter 8 miles away! I kid you not, mold, roaches, things moving under the carpet, it was a nightmare. When I refused to clean the bathroom (the same one I’d walked 8 miles not to use), they kicked me out.

Fully homless I went looking for work, EVERYWHERE! but no one was hiring. Thats when I came across a caricautre booth in Universal Studios Citywalk. I absentmindedly asked if they were hiring (not expecting anything to come from it), and I got my first yes in weeks! Having never drawn a caricautre in my life, my first attempt was a disaster, but all hope wasn’t lost. They told me if I practiced I could come back and give it another shot.

I came back everday, drawing people for free, from 6AM to 12AM, for three weeks straight, and was finally hired as an airbrush caricature artist on May 24, 2006, and fell in Love with it!

As with most artist I would consider myself an introvert, with one notable exception, I come to life when I get to draw people live. A fact I quickly discoverd that first year.

Fast forward todate. I’m still an artist that’s addicted to coming up with funny concepts and putting them on paper. It literaly keeps me up at night. As a Caricature artist, I treat all of my customers like a short story, and try to capture a snapshot from their film and show them! via stylized concept of course.

To be perfectly honest, I would consider myself to be incredibly lucky to be doing what I’m most passionate about! especialy considering where it all began.
